Comics By Famous People: Jj Abrams, Gerard Way And More

Comic creators are very cool, and though they may deserve to be, aren't necessarily famous. However there are a number of very well known musicians, actors, writers and TV Creators who love reading comics and have taken their love one step further and actually created their own comics. Partnering with talented artists and comic publishing companies like Marvel, DC and Dark Horse these stars have created knockout comics that appeal to fans who don't even read comics.

Here are a few of the most famous crossover comic events:

Umbrella Academy by Gerard Way
Gerard Way is lead singer of the band My Chemical Romance but I probably didn't need to tell you that! What you may not know is that Gerard loves comics. He worked at a comic book store in his teens and once he achieved success with his band, his mind once again turned to comics.
Umbrella Academy is an award winning story based around a disbanded group of super heroes that come back together again after the death of their adoptive father. The group reunite and plan to carry on his dream to save the world. The book won an Eisner (think Oscar for comics) for Best Limited Series.

Superman by Richard Donner
Richard Donner is best known as the director of the first really cool superhero movie, Superman back in the late 1970s. He also directed Lethal Weapon and has been a part of many more movies as a producer. In 2006 he collaborated with comics' superstar Geoff Johns on the Superman comic, Action Comics. The story arc known as Superman Last Son brings back the fan favourite villain, General Zod, from the second Superman movie.

Ultimate Wolverine Vs Hulk by Damon Laurence Lindelof
The co-creator of the TV series Lost wrote this long awaited confrontation between Marvel's famous bad-goodguys Wolverine and Hulk. The beginning is infamous because it depicts The Hulk ripping Wolverine's body into two pieces. It's clear these two have a score to settle.

Also take time to read any comics by Brad Meltzer, he is one writer who has crossed over into comics and not lost any of his power and impact. Try Identity Crisis, JLA Vol 1 or the upcoming Buffy Season 8 arc with Joss Whedon. Speaking of Joss, his Season 8 of Buffy The Vampire Slayer is only available in comics and is well worth checking out.

Comics are just another creative medium to tell a story and those storytellers who have already made their mark in other formats, often make a significant impact when they bring their skills to comics.

Watch Daybreakers For Free Online

Daybreakers is an upcoming 2010 vampire film written and directed by Peter and Michael Spierig. The film stars Ethan Hawke, Willem Dafoe and Sam Neill. Filming took place in Australia from July to September 2007. Daybreakers is scheduled to be released in the United Kingdom on January 6, 2010 and in North America on January 8, 2010.

In 2019, a plague transforms a majority of the world's population into vampires. With only a handful of humans left to provide blood, starvation is a very real risk for their new species. In response, the vampires seek to farm the remaining humans for their blood and to find a way to continue their existence.[2] A secret team of vampires uncovers a way that would rescue the human race.[3] At the same time, a group of surviving humans wishes to repopulate the species and survive.

New Moon (marketed as The Twilight Saga: New Moon) is a 2009 American romantic fantasy film. It is based on the novel of the same name by Stephenie Meyer and is the sequel to 2008's Twilight, which is based on Meyer's previous novel. Summit Entertainment greenlit the sequel in late November 2008, following the early success of Twilight. Directed by Chris Weitz, the film stars Kristen Stewart, Robert Pattinson, and Taylor Lautner, reprising their roles as Bella Swan, Edward Cullen, and Jacob Black, respectively. Melissa Rosenberg, who handed in a draft of the movie script during the opening weekend of Twilight, returns as the screenwriter for the second installment as well.

The motion picture was released on November 20, 2009 in most countries, and set domestic box office records as the biggest midnight screening with $26.3 million. This led to the biggest single day domestic gross with $72.7 million. New Moon also opened with the third biggest domestic opening weekend ($142,839,137)

Iron Man 2 Online

* Don Cheadle as Lt. Colonel James "Rhodey" Rhodes / War Machine: Cheadle is replacing Terrence Howard from the primary movie. Howard said, "There was no reason, apparently the contracts that we write and sign aren't worth the paper that they're written on, now and then. Deals aren't kept, and good faith discussions aren't always held up." Entertainment Weekly acknowledged Favreau did notenjoy working with Howard, often reshooting and deleting his scenes; Howard's publicist stated he had aexcellent experience playing the part, while Marvel chose not to comment. As Favreau and Theroux decided to minimize the role, Marvel came to Howard to talk about lowering his wages - Howard was the first artist hired in Iron Man and earned the biggest salary of the cast. The publicationcommented they were uncertain whether Howard's council left the project first or if Marvel chose to discontinue negotiating. Theroux denied the part of the report stating "the role of War Machine was scaled back and then pumped up". Cheadle just had a few hours to take the part and were not aware which storyline Rhodes would undertake. He commented he is a comic book fan, but felt there are not enough black superheroes.

Avatar Movie Facts

Jake has unwittingly been recruited to become part of this encroachment. Since humans are unable to breathe the air on Pandora, they have created genetically-bred human-Na’vi hybrids known as Avatars. On Pandora, through his Avatar body, Jake will be able to walk again. Sent deep into Pandora's jungles as a scout for the soldiers that will follow, Jake encounters many of Pandora's beauties and dangers. There he meets a young Na’vi female, Neytiri (Zoe Saldaña).

Over time, Jake integrates himself into the Na'vi clan, and begins to fall in love with Neytiri. As a result, Jake finds himself caught between the military-industrial forces of Earth and the Na’vi, forcing him to choose sides in an epic battle that will decide the fate of an entire world.

Avatar is without a doubt the biggest movie of the year. Award winning James Cameron has been working on this movie since the release of his last huge blockbuster Titanic. A lot of movies these days get a lot of hype and do not live up to it' but I guarantee Avatar is going to deliver in a big way.

How to Search for Collectible Comics on the Web

Looking for rare and collectible comic books? Whether you are a seasoned collector of Golden Age comics or just starting with some recent back issues, finding the comic you want, when you want it could be a daunting task.

Where to Find Comics
The two best places to find comics are the Internet and the world famous San Diego Comic-Con. Visiting the local comic store is still an option, but your changes of finding that Amazing Spider-Man #1 is slim.

In this article, we'll focus on how to find comics on the Internet. Specifically, vintage comics that are at least ten years old. In general, comic searches will be focused on ages: Golden Age, Silver Age, Bronze Age and Modern.

Surprisingly, the large search engines, such as Google, are not the best place to look for comics. The results you'll find will be to dealer sites, but not to their constantly changing inventory. Your search will be focused on the following categories: comic book specific search engines, auction sites, dealer sites, classifieds and forums.

Comic Search Engines
Your best bet for one-stop shopping is a comic book search engine. This type of website will search as many sites on the Internet that it can find and present the compiled results to you without you having to visit multiple sites.

The largest, ComicSeeker.com (http://www.comicseeker.com), is simple to use. You type in the title of the comic you are searching for and the optional issue number. The results are then presented from various sites on the Internet. When you find the comic you want, you go from ComicSeeker.com to the site where the comic book if for sale.

Auction Sites
Ebay. Of course, there are other auction sites out there, but for sheer volume, Ebay (http://www.ebay.com) is the leader. On any given day, there are thousands of comics for you to purchase. If you do buy from Ebay, use caution when selecting a seller and always check their feedback. It is not uncommon for the comic you purchase to be in a lower grade than described. There are honest sellers and feedback is the best way to weed out the bad ones.

There are some comic book specialty auction sites. The largest is Heritage Comics (http://www.heritagecomics.com) based in Texas. You can also bid at Vault Auctions, Hakes and OnlineComicBookAuctions.com.

Dealer Sites
Most of the major and minor comic book dealers now have websites. Some have their own search engine, making it easy for you to search their inventory. Some even let you specify a specific grade that you are searching for. Others aren't quite as advanced yet and require you to click from page-to-page to look through their inventory.

The largest dealer site isn't really a dealer, but a consignment/exchange: ComicLink (http://www.comiclink.com). At ComicLink, you will probably find the most active trading of Gold, Silver and Bronze age comics on the Internet.

Classifieds
Comics are not usually sold through online classified sites, but sometimes you can get lucky. As with the auction site category, the classified category is dominated by one major site, Craigslist.

Craigslist (http://www.craigslist.org) operates several local versions, so it is best to stick to searches at your local site as the comic seller may not want to ship to you. Our tip for searching Craigslist is not to search. They have deployed a new technology call RSS/XML. If you have downloaded the Firefox web browser, it is easy to take advante of this technology.

First, go to your local Craigslist and type the term comics in the search box and select the For Sale section. When the results page loads, you will notice a small icon in the right side of the location bar of Firefox. Click this and the feed will now be saved as a Live Bookmark. From now on, you can instantly see all posts at Craigslist with comics in the description.

Forums
Community forums are a great way to buy comics from other comic collectors. Some forums have specific topic areas just for people who are selling comics. However, the best tactic is to simply be active in the forum and keep your want list in your post signature.

Some popular forums are CGC Boards, CBG Extra and About.com Comics.

Conclusion
With so many options on the Internet, it shouldn't take you long to find the exact comic book you are searching for. By using this multi-tier strategy, you should be able to find multiple copies of the comic you want and purchase based on grade and price. Good luck and have fun.

what do you like better American comics or Japanese Manga?

I personally like both, but I started with american comics and I rarely buy manga, and I also feel that the quality of art is better from american comics. But the quality ofstory telling of both genres is very good

everyone seems to be going for manga, but i opt for american comics. i love the art style of manga and their humour is much better than american comics, but i have never read a manga that actually had a strong, original or coherent story. almost all mangas that ive ever read had really cliched stories, basically variants of particular archetypes. main characters are almost always either clumsy yet powerful fools or silent but deadly warriors. and theres always a deceptively cunning mentor to guide them. basically, with the exception of death note, out of the mangas ive read, they let the mythology they have created tell the story in between crowd-pleasing showdowns. on the other hand, i have found american comics to be more original and rich in their storytelling, for example in watchmen or the ultimates, which tell stories ith a more personal touch. also, american comic characters tend to be more diverse. my personal favourite is deadpool, a psychotic mercenary who is in fact just as ruthless as his profession demands. it is just more daring in my eyes to create these characters. plus, american comic characters tend to be more relatable, spider-man, etc. it just makes things more interesting for me

Writing Comic Books

Writing Comic Books For Marvel Or Dc - Studentscholarships.org

The ultimate job would have to be writing original, creator-owned comic books for one of the main companies such as Marvel or DC. Writing for a living is something that I would love to do because I would be able to bring my ideas to life. The characters that I dreamed about, the worlds that I wanted to explore, the events that I created all could be brought out so that the entire world could see them. The biggest challenge would be the fear of waiting to see if people loved your ideas or hated them. It would be difficult for me to accept if one of my characters were to fail because I have become attached to each and everyone, but the failure would only prompt me to work harder on my ideas. The trial and error aspect of the job would let me understand what the readers wanted and help me figure out how to keep them entertained. Of course, because no job is perfect there would be a downside.

The downside would have to be the fact that it is very hard to break into the business as a comic book writer. Even if you can get into the business, writers do not get the recognition that the artists get. Even if you were the creator of a comic book that was popular, chances are that the artist would get most of the attention. The attitude of people today is that if there was no artist, the material would not get out. That may be true, but at the same time, it there were no writers, the artists would not have anything to draw. I wouldn’t be able to handle it if an artist got credit for my work. It isn’t that I want all of the credit. I just would like to get the credit I deserved. If the artist and writer got equal credit then there would be no downside to being a writer. Of course, the fact that someone loves your work should be reward enough.

One of the most amazing things I could ever hope to happen to me is if I was able to create something that the population embraced. It is my dream to create something that becomes more than a character. I want to create an icon. I want to have something that becomes so popular that it outlasts me. Superman and Batman have been around for almost half a decade and are still popular even though their creators have passed on. I want to make something with that kind of staying power. That would be my dream come true to know that I created something that was truly successful.

Comic books are always changing and evolving. Comic books have become a part of the mainstream and their subject matter has expanded. I want to be part of this evolution and take comic books to the next level. That is my dream.

If you are Looking for Shirts for a Unique Gift

Or add it to your own wardrobe, then you may want to look at the different types of shirts that are available. The first type of shirt that are pre-printed T-shirts are popular. These kinds of T-shirts are great for children, adolescents and adults, they offer an unlimited number of possibilities, including the design of comic books, television shows logos and proverbs, sayings fun, and novelty designs.

If you are planning a special event, as a fundraiser, a festival, a party or a family reunion, then you may want to look into the purchase of the screen printed T-shirts. With this shirt option, you can create your own logo or design and the print on the shirt color you want. You can also choose between the long sleeve and short sleeve shirts.

men and women T-shirts are generally cut the same, however, some designers create a little more tailored shirt cut for women's designs. If you are buying a young person or a woman with a smaller cut then fitted departure is likely to be best suited to their body and then the traditional boxy shirt cut. Before you buy a shirt for a woman, you want to know how she likes to adjust his shirt, loose or fitted. If you know this, then you will know what to cut shirt that awaits you.

shirt shop Another option is to purchase a vintage shirt. Vintage T-shirts are not always synonymous with second hand. In some stores vintage shirts are new T-shirts with drawings vintage. If you are interested in this type of shirt then you need to look for them in the shops and specialty stores, like most retailers do not carry vintage styles of T-shirts, however, this is slowly starting to change.

The Losers Is a Lost Cause

Logic goes out the window in this crappy shoot-’em-up. Based on an award-winning, Vertigo-published comic, The Losers is about a top-secret Special Forces unit’s quest for revenge on a shadowy figure named Max (Jason Patric), who ordered the commandos’ death following a mission to assassinate a Bolivian terrorist.

Comic Book Writer

Comic Book Art

The very first comic book was born in the United States and is often said to have been officially launched by ‘Famous Funnies’ in 1934. What followed was mass production of a wide assortment of comic books that eventually led comic book historians to categorize them according to their birthday. They are either part of the Golden Age, Silver Age, Bronze Age, or Modern Age.

Today, comic books are still very popular and their acclamation is due, in great part, to the talented comic book artists who create them. The amazing imagery found in the pages of a comic book triggers the reader’s imagination, where fantasy worlds exist.

How is a Comic Book Made?

Comic book art is not easy. Much detail is required to create a good comic book that will attract readers, especially in our modern world of movies, DVD’s, televisions and computers.

Before any of the characters or imagery can be drawn, the artist must put his or her head together with the writer. The first thing on the agenda is to discuss and develop a story line that will captivate readers. Next, characters are created, situations are devised, and scenery is established, so on, so forth. The writer’s script must be meticulously followed by the artist in order to please everyone involved.

The artist proceeds to draw a rough sketch in pencil of each comic book page, and uses these rough drafts as a guideline for his art work. At this stage of development, all the necessary comic book art elements, such as narrative, sound effects, and dialogue balloons, are included in a different shade from the main illustrations so that they are distinguishable.

At the time when the finished pencil art work is presented to the editor, it may be required that the artist make changes to the drawings to further ensure that the imagery matches the script. After the editor’s final approval, the drawings are enlarged and sent to the inker, whose role is vital to comic book art.

The inker is responsible for introducing shadows, adding special effects, separating the foreground from the background, and carrying out several other tricky tasks. The final result will show the sound effects, dialogue, and narrative boxes as they should be, in their own unique fonts and style.

When the inker’s work is done, the copy of the comic book is sent to the colorist whose job is to find the perfect shade of every color for every character, as well as every detail, in the comic book’s imagery. A computer is used in order to save all the color data on file for future comic books of the same series. A proof copy of the finished product is printed and forwarded for final review.

Following approval, the comic book is sent to print. The pages are placed in the correct order, printed, cut, piled, folded, and stapled. Millions of copies can then be shipped out to comic book stores all over the world!

Comic Book Art and Popular Culture

Comic books have definitely made an enormous impact on popular culture in recent years. A significant number of comic book characters have jumped from the page to the big screen. Prominent figures such as the Fantastic Four, X-Men, Transformers, Watchmen, G.I. Joe, Spider-Man, Batman, Superman, and other superheroes, whose mission is to save the world, have delighted movie-lovers, young and old alike.

Many films portraying comic book characters have been incredibly successful at the box office, but it is important to acknowledge the comic book artists who originally created these memorable characters. Without them, the super heroes that people have grown to love would never have existed.

Lucky for us, skillful artists are still hard at work producing new comic book art that will entertain avid readers and movie-goers, who love to escape to an imaginary world.

Comic Book Conventions in the Uk

The pantheon of the UK's best venues

The pantheon of the UK's best venues is as diverse as the organisations and businesses within its borders. The stereotypical hotel ballroom housing a conference of insurance adjusters does not fit the bill in defining what the best venues offer to UK groups. The definition of the best venue depends on the eye of the beholder, changing based on the number of invitees and the activities in question. An event organiser must think about his target audience as well as presenters and special guests when searching for the best venues.

One category of venues available to organisers involves simple design, high-tech facilities and basic furnishings. Modern hotels, conference centres and theatres are the best venues for professional groups more focused on their agendas than their surroundings. Teachers, attorneys, accountants and other professionals look for function rather than form when attending conferences. Breakout sessions, keynote speeches and group meetings are facilitated by Wi-Fi connections and computer workstations. This preference should help event organisers find simple but functional venues for their events.

Comic conventions, book fairs and speeches by popular entertainers need to be housed in venues with proper light and sound systems. An entertainer looking for a grand entrance to the stage may need a video intro, coordinated lighting and a booming theme song from the speakers. Comic conventions showing clips from upcoming action and sci-fi movies need to have miniature screening rooms to allow audiences to see multiple clips. A publishing event with prominent writers may need to shuffle seats and tables quickly to faciliate speeches, group discussions and breakout sessions. Since these events may not require as much space as other conventions, event organisers may be able to sacrifice convention rooms in favor of light and sound systems.

Trade group events and home shows require facilities that can handle product unloading, individual booths and exterior rooms that can handle overflow attendees. Furniture designers, home builders and construction companies must be able to unload samples and models easily from the street level to conference rooms. Medical supply events, home shows and other conferences where buyers and vendors are interacting are ineffective without individual booths for each vendor. The best venues are able to erect cubicle walls to match the number of registered vendors at an event, maximizing the value of the event for attendees. In addition to a large conference floor for easy movement, the best venues for these groups have sizable lobbies and adjacent overflow rooms to allow newcomers to wait until space is available in the vendor area.

While it is easy to break different groups based on their best venues, the ideal venue for any group has a few basic characteristics. The best venues in the UK are staffed with porters, desk clerks and event planners that are committed to their employer's vision of quality service. Instead of a group of individuals trying to complete their tasks, great venue operators assign their workers to teams to handle the needs of each client. Event organisers should also have contact with the venue's point person for conference clients. The point person is tasked with coordinating employees and resources to meet the needs of the venue's clients.

The best venues available to UK organisations and businesses add value to the organisations to their full calendar of events. Historic hotels and modern conference centres have their names attached to events everyday, lending some credence to sponsoring organisations and participating presenters. An emerging software company sponsoring a scholarly conference with IT professor and industry experts can boost its reputation by choosing a high-end venue. Since most organisations rely on their annual conferences and meetings to make a public presence, the choice of the best venue possible is critical to keeping a spotlight on important issues.

Stadiums, racecourses and hotels that host conferences in the UK offer premium services to their customers. The best example of premium services offered by the best venues in the UK comes from the catering and room service menus. High-end venues extend their catering menus beyond snack foods and appetizers to multicourse meals, spirits and desserts made onsite. Room service menus may pleasantly surprise attendees who are staying in conference centres and hotels over the duration of the events. A menu covering breakfast to dinner including omelettes, sandwiches and steaks can improve the reputation of the sponsoring organisation.

Whether it is a home show or a conference of legal professionals, the best venues offer connectivity to the outside world. The days of a hotel room offering a TV with basic cable and a simple phone are long gone. Contractors, attorneys, teacher and other professionals must have access to the Internet to stay in touch with family and colleagues. The best venues are wired for Wi-Fi connectivity and allow for teleconferencing and international calling facilitating meetings with absent colleagues.

Why you Need a Realtor – Seller

I used to encourage people to try selling their home for-sale-by-owner before calling me, then play the superhero and swoop in when all else fails to save the day. Not anymore. That's because although they may "save" some money on the front end of the deal, it's the lawsuits and contractual disputes that'll bleed them dry in the end.

No, not every FSBO contract ends in court, but too many of them get so distorted by both parties inexperience and stubbornness that they're unrecognizable as legal transactions and oftentimes result in more than one person scratching their head and wondering what made them do this in the first place. For example, a buyer and seller may just skate through negotiating the repairs after a home inspection without wringing each other's necks, only to find that the buyer's lender requires more repairs to be done to bring the property condition to a certain standard. Neither the buyer nor seller knew about it, but the seller feels he's already compromised too much and refuses to make any more repairs and the buyer feels the same and won't settle for less. They're at an impasse. How do you make it work so both parties are satisfied? How do you get out of the contract without inviting breach of contract? Who gets the earnest money deposit? Who has the legal right-of-way?

Realtors aren't miracle workers, but we've got the know-how to answer those questions, as well as combat just about any crisis that may arise. We have extensive schooling, followed by required classes in real estate and real estate law. We keep up-to-date with as much information as we can. There are very few things that can surprise a Realtor.

Showing home after home after home after home to our buyers has also enlightened us as to exactly what buyers are looking for . . . and what scares them away. Most of us won't claim to be professional stagers, but we do know that the armoire crowding the stairs has got to go, the dirty siding needs to be power-washed, the junk on the dresser just needs to be boxed up and stored, that couch needs to go there and that chair needs to go over there, trim that bush, paint that door, caulk that baseboard, change the color on that wall and remove the wallpaper on that one, and the list goes on. Surprisingly, sometimes it's the little things that can drive a buyer away.

Pricing is another area where we can really shine. The method we use to value a home is the very same method a licensed appraiser uses to value a home. Word of caution, though: if you already had an appraisal because you've decided at some point to refinance, we won't use it. Most appraisals resulting from refinancing are high, very high. On the flip side, we shamefully use it to better sell your home, as in "Priced below appraisal!"

But that's not where we really excel! Years of experience have taught us everything we need to know to market your property effectively. First and foremost is our access to the Multiple Listing Service (MLS). The MLS is the #1 vehicle to selling your home. Buyers working with Realtors have available to them through the MLS an automated search engine. The Realtor will input the buyer's criteria into the MLS and email to the buyer a list of homes within that criteria. And every time a home comes on the market that fits within that criteria, the Realtor's system will automatically email the property information to the buyer. Additionally, the MLS reaches buyers who are not represented by a real estate agent by also posting the listing on Realtor.com.

Another avenue of marketing not available to the general public is the Homes magazine. This is a publication offered to the community at no charge, and the full-color pages can sometimes attract genuine interest.

Yard signs, open houses, websites and ads in local papers work too, but another excellent resource is simply word-of-mouth. Realtors talk. We talk at meetings, classes, through email, charity events and even while giving feedback on a showing. We send mailings to specific neighborhoods, past clients, and family and friends. We've met hundreds of people and worked with dozens of real estate agents. We get around. What better person to talk up your home than someone with connections?

As Realtors, we also have access to all the paperwork necessary to make the home-selling process both legal and painless. We have contracts, addendums, request for repair forms, seller disclosures, one-time showing agreements, lead-based paint disclosures, listing agreements, contingency forms, smoke detector affidavits, release of contract forms, etc. You name it, we have access to it.

Realtors also negotiate on your behalf. Oftentimes a seller doesn't know when to push and when to back off, when to accept an offer or counter an offer or where to draw the line on inspection repairs. Years of experience interpreting subtle (and not-so-subtle!) nuances in negotiations has equipped us to read most situations and act appropriately. For example, if we know that a buyer has already sold their home, that tells us that anxiety might be setting in and they may be more amenable to negotiations. If we find that a buyer already backed out of a contract because the sellers refused to make any repairs after the home inspection, we take that into consideration as well. If the buyer's agent says that the buyer is only in town 24 hours, we can presume that they're hoping to find a home and make an offer on it all in the same day. Everything comes into play in negotiating, whether it be the obvious, or even something as simple as a dejected tone in the buyer's voice. And if you decide to play good cop/bad cop, we'll be the bad cop!

The icing on the cake is that Realtors will often go way above and beyond what's expected of them. We've let the dog out while our sellers are on vacation. We've waited for contractors to let them in the house. We've even hired neighborhood kids to mow lawns. We've cleared backyards of dog poop and scrubbed kitchen sinks to make the home more presentable. To sum it up, we go that extra mile to sell your house. Our goal is to develop relationships with our sellers that will last not only through the final paperwork and closing, but a lifetime.

Sell Comic Books Online

The Benefits Of Buying Books Online

Buying books online is a fun and challenging experience. There are hundreds if not thousands of online bookstores to choose from with hundreds to hundreds of thousands of titles. Wholesale booksellers as well as retail booksellers have websites for purchasing books online. Retail booksellers can be chains or local independent bookstores that specialize in the retail and distribution of books. They can work between the publisher and the public to distribute books, or they can also work between the author and the public as publisher. Wholesale booksellers move and break down huge lots of books both new books and used ones into smaller lots for redistribution, selling them off to other businesses, other wholesalers, and individuals. Buying books online is an exciting endeavor, and with the advent of search engines, any kind of used, new or rare books can be found.

You will find that online stores range in size, and will carry every kind of book that you are interested in buying. If one online book store does not have what you want, then you will be sure to find another online book store that does. For example, if you are interested in buying textbooks or reference books for your dissertation online, you will find websites that are college student oriented, sponsored by universities and colleges across the United States, which specialize in exactly the kinds of books you are searching for. If you're interested in used books, you will also find online bookstores that specialize in used and discounted books. Online bookstores cater to the needs of individuals who need items shipped to them for convenience. It is possible to buy books online and have your order waiting for you at a local bookstore chain, if you order from their particular website and/ or call their customer service.

There can be hundreds and hundreds of thousands of titles carried through online book stores that you will be interested in buying and online bookstores list their books conveniently by category. So some of the book categories you may find are: Biography, Comics/ Graphic Novels, Children's Books, Horror, Crime/ Thriller/ Mystery, Fiction, and a lot more. You may also find collectible, antique, and rare books, CDs and audio cassettes, photography, art and many other categories as well. Searching for specific authors, titles or ISBN numbers, buying online books makes it easy by allowing you to type in that author, title or ISBN number in a search bar to find what you're looking for. Online bookstores also have customer service by phone number or online form if you have trouble finding what you're looking for.

Buying books online also gives you the option to purchase books through auction websites where you can discount the costs dramatically. Most book sellers believe in satisfaction guarantees in order to cover any accidental damaged or misrepertation of the books. They may also have their own company policies on exchanges and returns. Many times you can find that their customer service is only a mouse click away. This just enhances the fact that buying your books online will not only save you money but also time.

I want to sell a comic book collection?

I have about 400 archie comic books and some of them are very old. I was wondering if anyone knew where I could sell them online to a reliable comic book dealer? I live in Chicago, IL thanks.

It is best to sell them separately, than in a group because alone, the value of the one book is counted, plus in a group, there may be deductions, but there are ways to sell the comics for a reasonable price, as long as they're in good condition.

- Try sites like E-Bay or Amazon, there, you can set the price, and who knows, it could sell for more.

- There are stores like Tramps where they can take your old comics, but they are very picky, where it has to be in perfect condition, otherwise you get ripped off.

- At comic conventions you can sell and trade comics, but you got to listen to what's going on in town and check when it will happen.

- The easiest way is by having a garage sale and setting your own prices, plus you're selling other stuff too. The bad thing is some people try to lower the prices you set.

I would recommend the Internet the most, and I would check comic price guides to see how much your comics are worth, there are many sites that do that, and plenty books as well.
