Best source for history/back story of comic book heroes?
The more super hero/comic book movies come out, the more I want to know of their history. Not the history of the writers and when they were released, but the history of the characters.
Like the back story of Logan and why/how became Wolverine (I know the movie had to leave a lot out).
Now, do I need to read the comic books? Because frankly, there are tons. (plus dozens of different subplots and stories)
Is there a website that sums up the back stories (or gives great detail) of a lot of the DC and Marvel characters? Thank you so much. And try not to laugh too hard at my lack of knowledge.
Signed,
Wife who wants to keep up with her husbands knowledge of comics.
I am a lifelong fan of comicbook characters and I happen to be quite knowledgable of a lot of the many characters out there and I'v elooked at thses sites and I think they're probably the best sites to go to for history and general info on these companies characters. I know there's plenty of characters that AREN'T from Marvel or DC but in those cases I suggest you just look them up individually on Wikipedia itself.
Depending on how knowledgable your husband is you may end up schooling him if you read through these bios!
I've been married 12yrs and fortunately my wife, much like you was willing to put up with my love of comics and has even bothered to listen to me when I prattle on about 'em too. LOL
Hope this helps.

The Dark Knight arrives with tremendous hype (best superhero movie ever? posthumous Oscar for Heath Ledger?), and incredibly, it lives up to all of it. But calling it the best superhero movie ever seems like faint praise, since part of what makes the movie great--in addition to pitch-perfect casting, outstanding writing, and a compelling vision--is that it bypasses the normal fantasy element of the superhero genre and makes it all terrifyingly real...

Where can I find tutorials on how to draw the distinctive Superhero Comic book style?
I absolutely love Superhero comic books and I want to find a tutorial on how to draw in that style. I love the crisp look and angular lines of the style and I envy the artists. I honestly cant find a good tutorial that will load so I wanted to ask if anyone knew where I might find one.
