New Supernatural Comic Book Series Starting in April

The Supernatural fan base is undeniably strong, and they serve as a good market for publishing companies who would like to release material on the Supernatural series. In fact, WildStorm released Supernatural: Origins comic book last year, and it was a fair success. This year, fans will again delight in another release, as Supernatural: Rising Son is coming soon. The new comic book is a six-issue miniseries that will tell another tale about the Winchester brothers. To be released on April 23, the series will follow a 7-year-old Sam and 11-year-old Dean as they travel with their father, John.

Writer Peter Johnson, who is also a co-executive producer on the TV show explained that this series focuses more on John and his dysfunctional family.

"We're really going to explore the differences between Sam and Dean in this one, " Johnson added. "Dean is becoming aware of what his dad's up to and we'll see him training and hunting a little bit, while John will start to key in on something different about Sam."

Despite being another Supernatural project, show creator Eric Kripke, who contributed hugely to the Origins project, was not present in any way in Rising Son, mostly due to the writers' strike. Although the strike does not include comic book writers, Kripke saw the thin line between writing for the TV series and writing a comic book based on the series, and thus opted to not be part of it this time.

Johnson added that this action packed series includes familiar faces, creepier monsters, fighter chicks and a villain that may be part of the show itself. This will be one hell of a comic book for Supernatural fans to look out for, and just to add to the excitement, there is a third comic book in its conception stage. As for now, let's await the release of Supernatural, Rising Son, on April 23.

Just being cautious...could it be mania?
I haven't been diagnosed with bipolar, but I do have a high chance. My mommy used to take medication for some disorder she won't tell me. Given that, I also been a tad depressed for a week, and now, I feel hyper. I kind of feel like I'm in love and happy, but mostly is energy that seems to drive me. It just seems weird to be uppity in such a stressful time. I should be crying or something, yet, I keep doing a lot things; learning to draw, doing my homework, learning to become a comic book writer, and so many things. The funny things is...I'll just quit and decide to do something else. d: Could it be bipolar? If so, should I do something? Should I just see were it takes me? My skin feels weird, and I sorta have this "embarrassing" feeling... Rebecca, you trying to say being bipolar you have to have intense moods, but you then say the moods can be mild O.o Just pointing that out. You could be right about "life" being part of it. Darn life! XD Rebecca, you trying to say being bipolar you have to have intense moods, but you then say the moods can be mild O.o Just pointing that out. Do comics have little emotional impact since no one ever stays dead?
So I just started getting very into American comics a couple of months ago, I was mostly a manga reader. And I am in love with them. I really wish I had started reading earlier so I could enjoy some of the stories as they came out. And since im getting really into the comics I am kinda beginning to care about the characters but I have been wondering if comics actually have very little emotional impact since none of the main characters ever stay dead. I think a main character dying is a really dramatic but awesome way for something to happen to shake up a story or a universe but ive noticed that in comics death means nothing pretty much. At least for the main characters, the secondary are usually the ones that STAY dead lol. And I understand that companies like DC and Marvel arent guna just kill off their main powerhouses and thats its end of the show but when these characters do die theres almost no emotional impact cause you know they will be back in a couple of months or years, its not permanent. And then even if a main character dies like The Flash-Barry Allen, he was dead for a long long time, they just end up bringing him back killing what ever emotional feelings were brought on by his death. And I mean who honestly thought Bruce Wayne was guna stay dead? Not guna happen. So I feel while comic book writers want their stories to be dramatic by killing off main characters the effect is wasted since it doesnt mean anything. So I just wanted to hear anyone elses opinions, especially more die hard fans of comics since like I said im still some what new to it. I want to know how a characters death affects you. Also if there have been main characters that have stayed dead sorry I dont know who they are =P k if I wasnt specific enough I mean superhero comics. Obviously comics about real people they will stay dead!
