Making connections between seemingly unconnected pieces of information is our genius. That human genius combined with a need to feel that we, or at least someone, has control over the random events in our world, often result in something other than genius...
The 138th day of the year, is also the episode number of The Simpsons "138th Episode Spectacular", during the opening of which the family runs to a couch in a parody of M. C. Escher's Relativity which was created in 1953, the same year that David Gest was born and who regularly celebrates his birthday in a Roman themed celebration of the Ancient Roman festival of Faunus (May 18th, or the 138th day of the year in non-leap years) which was adapted from the Ancient Grecian Celebration of Pan which occurs on the 138th day of the year and whose name appears in the Simpsons episode entitled "Goo Goo Gai Pan" which guest starred Robert Wagner who also starred in the Austin Powers movies which owe much to the ground-breaking television series Get Smart which ran for 138 episodes and ended on the day the Ford Pinto was released, a car which is attacked by a rabies infected dog in the movie Cujo whose author, Stephen King, played in the band Rock Bottom Remainders with Matt Groening who was born in Portland, Oregon which, by the year 2014 is estimated to have a population of 2, 628, 072, a number whose cubed root is 138?

do you correct it please? necessary!?
It's my presentation. Please just correct the words, syntax and the tempus, thank you
I must confess that I really don't watch often "FUTURAMA".
So I had to read some texts in the Internet. By reading and watching that series I feel completely d
different than reading the book "Brave New World". Of course, there are some parallels but
in my opinion, Futurama shows a completely different version of the future than the "BRAVE
NEW WORLD". In Futurama, the world has been developped and there are many progresses
in technology without mind control.
In my point of view, the behaviour of the society is still the same, but a little
bit more extreme! Today, e.g. aliens aren't part of the society yet. Therefore, you can see how
interplanetary the society in FUTURAMA became. The technology makes life a bit more easy.
Nevertheless, Futurama is neither a utopia nor a dystopia, it's something in between. You can
find there the same problems you have now! There are already feelings like love and hate.
So, the state of Futurama isn't shown in a too good or too bad way.
Well, I believe that Futurama is full of satire. First of all, Matt Groening is the maker of the series.
In my opinion he's THE MAN of satire!! In a satiric way, he critizes and illustrates the society
of the 20th/21st century. Therefore he uses a satiric humour and calls it "Futurama". An example
is the World State flag: it looks like the american flag because the USA influences us.
And that's probably "the secret of all science fiction: it's not really about the future, it's about
here and now." (Matt Groening, 1999)

Hurry! I have an oral presentation tomorrow about Matt Groening!?
Hello!
I have an oral presentation tomorrow in class about Matt Groening.
You know, the creator of The Simpsons. The teacher gave us a few questions that we should answer in the presentation, but there are two questions that I have no idea how to answer.
These are;
? How has the animator influenced and affected people?
? What distinguishes Matt Groening?
I don't know how he has affected me. I only watch his shows and laugh to them, there's nothing deeper than that. And also I have no idea what makes Matt Groening special (question 2)...
Please help, I am really stressed out!
