Wednesday Comics

Sunday morning routines consist of waking up, making breakfast, and reading the newspaper. Which section do you read first? The comics section is popular among young kids and adults that are kids at heart. Every Sunday you can find the comic strips in the newspaper. This Sunday morning routine is becoming something of the past. More people are reading their news on the Internet, and newspapers are starting to cut back on the comics section.

DC Comics is coming out with their version of the Sunday newspaper comics to solve this problem. They have announced Wednesday Comics. It is a 12 part weekly series of comics that will have the look and feel of newspaper comic strips. Unlike a regular comic book with a cover, binding and staples, the Wednesday comics will have to be unfolded and opened to read. It is similar to opening and reading a newspaper. They chose Wednesday comics because new released comic books go on sale every Wednesday at comic book stores. DC Comics wants to keep the Sunday morning routine of picking up the newspaper and reading the comics section alive through the production of Wednesday Comics.

The 12 issues of comics will feature well known comic book characters, and each will get a full page installment with their stories. The characters you'll be reading about are: Batman, Wonder Woman, Demon, Catwoman, Hawkman, Metamorpho, Supergirl, Deadman, Superman, Adam Strange, Kamandi, Teen Titans, Metal Man, and the Flash. What's unique about these series of comic adventures is that the stories start from their own beginnings in the Wednesday series. They will not be a continuation from what readers are following in comic books. This allows for Wednesday Comics to be understandable and obtainable for all readers. Anyone can pick up the Wednesday Comics and not know about the characters and will be able to learn about them and the characters history.

There are a lot of great creators that are making this project possible. DC Comics has put together a team of creators which include: Kyle Baker, Paul Pope, Kurt Busiek, Amanda Connor, Brian Azzarello, Ryan Sook, and many more creative comic book writers and artists. The comics are being created and produced for 12 weeks during the summer.

The first issue will be released July 8, 2009. It will appear folded as 7" x 10" and will open up as a newspaper and will be 28" x 20" after it's unfolded. It is the modern newspaper comic strips.

Where can I find a collection of daily comics?
Hi, I like to read comics in the morning, but I don't want to go to each individual website to read one comic. Does anyone know where I can find a site that collects individual comics? Oh and just doing a google search and typing in the best result may not be the best idea, I've already done it and it didn't help. I guess someone who also likes to read newspaper comics online would be the best person to answer.
